Modern technologies and the ability to make a difference on a large scale brought Thomas to Quriiri. Thomas is also interested in sports, guitar playing and games.
What is your role at Quriiril?
As a technology manager, my goal is to enable all the technical things needed to run and grow a business. I am responsible for the technologies we use, both in development and on platforms. I also lead our development team and am responsible for resourcing.
What did you have to become when you grew up? And if not, why did it happen?
Fighter pilot. I was inspired to work with computers and ended up in my first IT job in high school. Then I became an entrepreneur and went on to work in various IT jobs.
How did you end up doing the work you do now?
When I was younger, I worked more on 3D graphics. This became a full-time profession when we set up our games company and made games for PlayStation 3. After that I got more into programming, especially around web and user interfaces. At that time, modern UI libraries like React were just starting to emerge. I started to specialise in user interfaces and pretty soon I ended up as a user interface architect and team leader. I also got into management and now I'm the CTO at Quriiri.
What is the best thing about your job?
Varied tasks, good colleagues, interesting technologies and the chance to contribute to the success of the company on a large scale and be part of creating the world's best SMS service.
What interests you in your free time?
Sports, playing guitar and various games. In addition to the gym, I've been playing padel tennis since the summer.
