Business communication has changed rapidly in recent years. New channels have emerged and digital communication has become even more fragmented. At the same time, companies have become more demanding in terms of reliability, identifiability and accountability. These developments are also reflected in the SMS channel and in the growth figures for Quriiri over the past year.
In 2025, Quriiri revenue grew by 7.1 %% to €3 million, reflecting the evolution of business communications and the increasing need for reliable communications solutions.
Text messaging retains its place in the changing channel landscape
Although businesses have more communication channels at their disposal than ever before, SMS has retained its role, especially in situations where the message needs to be delivered with certainty. It does not depend on algorithms and does not require the recipient to have separate applications.
For businesses, this means above all certainty. SMS does not compete with the new channels, but complements them as part of a wider corporate communications mix. This is also reflected in a more deliberate and targeted use of the channel.
The growth of Quriiri reflects this trend. Companies are not just looking for more shipments, but for efficient and reliable ways to reach their customers.
”This growth shows that companies want to communicate reliably with their customers. Text messaging is particularly used in situations where message delivery is critical. When the channel works reliably, customer communication works and is appreciated by our customers”, says the co-founder of Quriiri Lasse Lohikoski.
Trust and accountability drive development
The importance of text messaging is highlighted in situations where the authenticity and delivery of the message is critical. This year, the reliability of SMS messages is also enhanced by a new regulation aimed at preventing scam messages and abuse.
Traficom has published a new regulation that obliges telecoms operators to ensure the accuracy of the sender information of messages sent by organisations and companies and to reliably identify the sender. The regulation will enter into force on 4 May 2026 and introduces stricter requirements for the verification of SMS sender identifiers.
From Quriiri's perspective, responsible action and growth go hand in hand. Clear policies, transparency and trust-based communication are essential for the SMS channel to remain effective and credible in the future.
The SMS channel is evolving with corporate communications
Quriiri's development over the past year shows that SMS is not a disappearing channel, but part of an increasingly diverse business communications mix. Its role is changing, but the need for reliable and accountable communication remains.
”Above all, growth is driven by a skilled and committed team. Corporate communications is an area where expertise and responsibility are key, and it only comes from skilled people who understand the industry.”, says Lasse.
