Identification by SMS.

Verification solutions

Verification by SMS can be divided into three categories:

Verify the user's mobile phone number, for example when registering, to ensure that the GSM number is correct and avoid the creation of fake customer accounts. It is worth verifying the customer's phone number to ensure that messages are delivered to the right person and that a fake phone number is not used for registration.
Phone number verification

The user registers for the service

A mobile phone number will be provided upon registration. The company wants to verify that the GSM number is correct.

SMS verification code

The verification code is sent by SMS

The verification code ensures that the mobile phone number is correct and that it belongs to the person registering.

Phone number verification

Registration is completed

Once the PIN has been entered correctly, the user registration can be completed.

Increase the security of the service by requiring a verification code to be sent to your mobile phone when you log in, in addition to the traditional username and password. Two-step authentication, as the name suggests, is based on two steps: what the user knows (ID and password) and what the user has (mobile phone).
Two-step identification

User enters ID and password

The user performs a normal login.

SMS verification code

The verification code for the additional verification will be sent by SMS

The code can be valid for a certain period of time, such as 10 minutes.

Phone number verification

The user can log in

Once the code is entered correctly, the system will let the user in.

Replace static passwords with one-time passwords sent via SMS. The user does not have to remember the password and the password cannot fall into the wrong hands, as it is different every time the user logs in.
Passwordless authentication

The user enters the ID

When logging in, the user only enters his or her user name.

SMS verification code

A one-time password is sent by SMS

A password can be valid for a certain period of time, such as 10 minutes.

Phone number verification

The user can log in

Once the password has been entered correctly, the system will let the user in. The next time the user logs in, a new password will be sent by SMS. The user does not therefore have a permanent password for the service.

SMS verification

Verify the identity of the user by SMS

SMS is very effective if you want to identify a customer or employee, or if you want to add security to the service login process. PINs sent by SMS have become familiar to people and are perceived as an easy way to log in.
When talking about SMS authentication, you may come across terms such as phone number verification, two-factor authentication or passwordless authentication. These are all different forms of authentication. What they have in common is that the user receives a PIN code for the mobile phone number they have provided via SMS.
