Quriiri's co-founder, Lasse Lohikoski, started his entrepreneurial career at the age of 17. Entrepreneurial Lasse is interested in diversity and interesting challenges. He also has a small green thirst and nature is important to him. He especially enjoys fishing.
Who are you?
I am Lasse Lohikoski, 42, co-founder and business director of Quriiri. I live with my family in Espoo, Finland. The family includes a wife and two children.
How did you get into this field?
I have always been very entrepreneurial and I have always been interested in technology. I took the bull by the horns early on and have been living my dream of starting a technology company since I was young. I started my first company, specialising in website development, when I was 17. This was, of course, through my father, as the law did not allow 17-year-olds to start their own business!
I started in the mobile communications business in 2001, when I changed the industry and business idea of the website company I founded with some friends. It became one of Finland's first companies specialising in SMS marketing services. Since then, mobile communications has taken over and I have been doing interesting work in the mobile communications industry in various companies and roles.
Why have you set up Quriirin?
After being away from the entrepreneurial world for a few years, I felt that I would like to return to entrepreneurship and create my own kind of business and entrepreneurial culture through Quriiri. I also saw that mobile communications was in its infancy in Finland and the world and that there was great potential for growth in the sector. I also realised that I still had a lot to contribute to this sector thanks to my long experience.
What is the best thing about your job?
Diversity and challenges. I get to do a variety of jobs, interact with people and solve interesting challenges.
What interests you in your free time?
In my free time, I try to do a variety of things to balance my work. In addition to spending time with my family, my hobbies include golf, basketball, volleyball, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing. I also particularly enjoy fishing, a hobby I enjoy on the sea, lake and river. I am also actively involved in voluntary nature conservation work to restore streams. I also enjoy music and have been playing piano and guitar since I was a little girl. And the experiences of travelling should not be forgotten.
I also have a little green thumb and plant and gardening is a relaxing activity.
