Joining and leaving an SMS group

In Quriiri, you can now enable a keyword that allows customers to join and leave a SMS group. The keyword is an effective way to increase SMS subscribers and create loyalty groups, for example. The new Quriiri Groups Subscription Management application allows users to join a group using a keyword. 

What is the SMS keyword? 

The keyword is used in SMS messages to activate an event, such as joining an SMS group. For example, you can create a Quriiri VIP group and associate the keyword ”VIP” with this group. When a person sends the text message ”VIP” to your company to a short or longcode number, they will automatically join your VIP group and you can send them text messages via Quriiri in the future. You can also set up an automatic reply that the person will receive after sending a keyword to your company number. 

 

What is a good keyword? 

The search term can be any word you choose. To be successful, it is a good idea to choose a short, simple word that is easy to remember and spell. You can also think about the keyword in terms of the purpose you are using the group for - sending news, offers or even information about events? For example, ”JOIN” or ”CLUB” are common words, but you could also use the name of your company or product in the keyword.

Avoid using special characters or difficult combinations of numbers in words, as these make it difficult to remember. If your customers misspell a keyword, you could lose their contact details altogether. A good way to do this is to create aliases for keywords to allow for the most common misspellings. For example, if you want to use the search term ”CLUB”, you can also add the word ”KLUB”, so that any misspellings are also accepted.
