The Quriirin team has received a new boost with the Lasse Rapo started as a full-time software developer. But Lasse is not a new face in the office - he was already working part-time at Quriiri as a software tester before graduating.
We asked Lasse how he feels about his new role and how the transition from student life to working life has gone.
From tester to developer
”I've been a part-time software tester at Quriiri for a few months, and now, after graduating with a degree in computer science, I started working full-time as a software developer.,” Lasse explains.
In the first phase, his work will focus on design and development of automation testing, but in the future Lasse will also be involved in back-end development.
Why Quriiri?
”I heard about the Quriiri software tester vacancy when I was working as a research assistant at the University of Oulu”, Lasse recalls. ”One of my colleagues recommended the place, and when I got to know Quriiri better, it seemed like a modern and professional place to work.”
Lasse also considers as an important attraction team spirit and opportunities for development:
”Here you can really get things done and learn new things in a motivated group.”
First impression: practical and encouraging
The start at Quriiri has been both inspiring and instructive for Lasse.
”I've gotten right down to business as usual and learned a lot about new tools and team working methods. The best thing is that you can ask for help here - and you always get it.”
According to him, Quriiri contributes to an agile and passionate workplace, combining professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere.
”Here, we value collaboration and openness - it shows in everything we do.”
Background on Oulu and student life
Lasse graduated from the University of Oulu and was also active in the university community, especially in the Oulun Tietoteekkarit ry. During his studies, he gained experience in base station verification at Nokia for several years.
”The transition from student life to working life may still take a while, but it's going to happen.”, Lasse laughs.
In your spare time: playmates and pasta boilers
When he's not busy with code or tests after work, Lasse relaxes by playing games with friends, enjoys Italian food in the kitchen, and in the summer he also likes to swim in the water.
And what about the fun fact?
”I can't eat sugar-coated sweets - it gives me the same reaction as if someone scratched a chalkboard with their fingernails!”
Welcome to the team, Lasse! It's great to have you as part of Quriiri!
