This year, we are once again helping to save the Baltic Sea and support the John Nurminen Foundation's efforts to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage with our Christmas donation. The John Nurminen Foundation carries out effective and concrete actions to protect the Baltic Sea.
The Baltic Sea is threatened by many problems:
- Eutrophication is one of the biggest threats to the Baltic Sea. Its most visible signs are blue-green algae blooms, water turbidity, siltation of the shores and the lack of oxygen on the bottom. At the same time, the Baltic's valuable cultural heritage is threatened with disappearance.
- The John Nurminen Foundation combats these problems, for example through its marine environment projects. These projects focus on concrete actions to reduce the phosphorus load in the Baltic Sea. The Foundation also preserves, enlivens and transmits stories and cultural heritage related to the sea.
The donation is a tangible demonstration of how we are implementing our corporate responsibility theme. By acting responsibly, we can develop our operations on a sustainable basis and create better conditions for future generations.
We challenge others to participate in the Christmas collection! Give a tangible and meaningful Christmas gift by donating to the future of the Baltic Sea. With your help, the John Nurminen Foundation will enable the Baltic Sea and its heritage to be preserved for future generations.
