This time our Quriri stories series continues with a presentation by Tanja Lipponen, Marketing Manager. Tanja joined Quriiri in August 2021 and is particularly interested in customer orientation and helping customers. In the article, Tanja talks about her work at Quriiril and also reveals what she couldn't do without.
How did you end up with Quriiri?
Before joining Quriiri, I worked as a creative entrepreneur. I provided branding and marketing assistance to companies. I have a wide range of experience working in marketing and I am also a professional photographer, so I combined my work with marketing photography, designing and photographing brand photos for companies. However, during my parental leave, I started to realise that I wanted to develop and work more holistically in marketing.
As if on cue, I was given the opportunity to be interviewed for a job at Quriiri by a recruitment company. I didn't really know anything about the company at this stage, but the discussions gave me a feeling that the company's values were in line with my own. In addition, I would be able to use my skills in a variety of ways and would have overall responsibility for the company's marketing. In the end, it was an easy decision to make.
How has your journey with Quriiri been so far?
When I joined Quriiri, developing and marketing the messaging service was new to me. However, I understood the benefits that SMS could bring to businesses. I was motivated by the fact that I could help businesses communicate more smoothly with their customers. My knowledge of the sector has grown, but I still feel that there is a huge amount to learn. It's interesting to work with experienced entrepreneurs and knowledgeable colleagues.
What is your job?
I will be responsible for the development and implementation of Quriiri's brand and marketing. My main task is to support the growth of the company through marketing. My job description includes a wide range of activities, from strategic marketing to practical measures. Text messaging is a growing channel for business communication and its potential is still untapped by many companies. My role is to be part of telling this story so that more and more companies can use SMS as part of their customer communications.
What is it like to work with Quriiri?
I have been happy with my decision to start working with Quriiri. I feel that the work of all of us in Quriir is meaningful because we want to promote and smooth the interaction between businesses and customers. We work together and the culture is conversational. Quriiri builds the best messaging platform for businesses and we can truly say we are at the forefront of SMS technology. I also appreciate that we genuinely care about our customers, want to help and are honest with our customers. This creates a mutually beneficial partnership.
What interests you in your free time?
I spend my free time with my family. My family includes my husband and two young daughters. Being outdoors and exercising is a way to relax and I go to the forest whenever I get the chance - either walking, running, cycling or skiing. I also like photography and knitting, and every now and then I pick up a brush and paint with watercolours. I couldn't survive without coffee and I really enjoy coffee breaks with friends. I can also be found from time to time in winter on the slopes or ski trails in Ylläs.
Combining work and family is an important issue for me and I am involved in Mothers in Business as a volunteer to promote family-friendly policies and mothers' role in working life.
