7 frequently asked questions about Quriir SMS service

11.6.2025
Text messaging is still one of the fastest and most reliable ways to reach customers - and Quriiri's business messaging service makes it even easier and more efficient.

However, many people are still wondering the same things before they start working together: how to deliver messages, what to see as sender information, or how to integrate the service into their own systems.
In this article, we have compiled the seven most common questions and their answers.

1. How well do text messages reach their recipients?

Text messages are one of the most effective ways to reach your customers quickly and reliably. Research shows that SMS messages the opening percentage is 98 %, and most messages are read in less than three minutes after they arrive.

Why do SMS messages work?

  • Messages arrive directly to your mobile phone
  • No getting lost in spam
  • Quick reaction: the recipient reads and acts immediately

When you send messages through Quriiri's SMS service designed for business communications, you ensure fast and reliable delivery.Quriiri's high-quality messaging connections allow you to get your messages across both in Finland and internationally. There are around 7.3 billion mobile phones in the world - almost all of them receive SMS messages. This makes SMS still a superior channel for large-scale communication.

2. What is displayed as sender information in the SMS?

When your company sends SMS messages to customers, the recipient will see either text or numbers.

Quriiri's SMS service allows you to choose from a variety of sender data formats:

SMS Sender ID registered with Traficom

The sender is the same name or number as the one registered To the Traficom. No one else will be able to send SMS messages with this ID, except the company that registered it. Read more about SMS Sender ID.

Longcode or short number

If you want a reply feature for your SMS message, the sender must be longcode or short number. A longcode number looks like a regular mobile phone number, while a shortcode number is a 5 or 6-digit number. The short code is registered in the company's name and issued by traficom.

Quriiris also allows you to store your own sender name, which will appear as the sender to the recipient.

3. What number do I need to receive messages?

Messages can be received using either a longcode or short number.

4. What is the future role of the RCS?

RCS (Rich Communication Services) is a more advanced form of text messaging that allows visual and interactive messages - such as pictures, videos, buttons and maps - without the need for a separate application.

RCS messages arrive in the same application as SMS messages and have high read rates. Android devices already support RCS. In Finland, RCS currently only works on Elisa subscriptions, but with Elisa being the largest operator in Finland, it is already possible to reach a large number of Android users with RCS messages. RCS already works on iPhone phones in some countries, but not yet in Finland (as of June 2025). Other operators have also announced that they will bring RCS support in the near future.

Quriiri offers a fall back feature for RCS communication: if the recipient does not support RCS, the message is sent as a normal SMS.

Text messaging will certainly remain a part of communication channels, but yes, RCS is very much part of the future of mobile communications. RCS can open up new opportunities and create stronger customer relationships through richer and more interactive communications.

Quriiri's SMS messages can be integrated with many different systems and applications, allowing you to send and receive SMS messages from your own systems, using Quriiri's high-quality technology and reliable connections.

Currently, Quriiri can integrate SMS messages in three different ways: Zapierin, With the help of API or Hubspot webookin with the help of.

Zapier

The easiest way to integrate your SMS and send automated messages is to use the Zapier integration. If the software you use is available in Zapier, you can integrate it with Quriiri and create automation with just a few clicks.

With Zapier, you can automate the sending of SMS messages after an event or trigger an event based on an incoming SMS.

API integration

If you need a customised solution, you can use the Quriiri interfaces to integrate. With API, you can build the solution that best suits your needs. Hubspot webhook

You can improve the customer experience at many different points in the customer's path by sending them relevant and useful SMS messages.

6. What to consider when choosing an SMS service?

To get the most out of your SMS channel, it's worth comparing providers. There are many options and when choosing the right partner, you should at least consider the following:

Integration - if you want to integrate SMS into your own systems, make sure that integration is smooth and easy.

Capacity - find a provider that is designed to scale with the volume of messages and can also ensure delivery of large volumes of messages.

Two-way communication - check whether you can easily enable two-way communication.

Registered SMS Sender ID support - you should register a sender ID so that no other company in Finland can use the same sender ID. Also make sure that your service provider supports the registration and sending of SMS Sender IDs.

Reporting - you'll also want to keep track of the number of replies and the number of messages.

Global connections - you may also have needs to communicate abroad. Make sure that you can also use the same service provider for your international messaging needs, including expert assistance. Each country has its own restrictions and regulations.

Expertise and customer support - situations where you need help come up from time to time. So make sure you get expert and fast help when you need it.

GDPR - do you need a service provider whose data remains within the EU? This is an important requirement for some businesses.

7. What do I need if I want to send SMS messages abroad?

Communicating abroad is easy with Quriiril. Our customer service will always help you understand and comply with the rules of international communication and how to open your communication to different countries.

However, there are country-specific restrictions and regulations that you should be aware of. For example New regulation in the US to come into force in March 2022, which sets a requirement to register a unique sender number (or more than one) for each company.

Some countries also have restrictions on the type of communications a company can send and there may also be restrictions on the time of day.
